In 2005 Concha y Toro purchased the Francisco de Aguirre Winery and its vineyards, creating a new and exciting project: Viña Maycas del Limarí. Through careful vineyard mapping they have been able to plant what grows best in these fresh, mineral terroirs, creating wines that express the new terrain perfectly. Maycas del Limarí wines capture the spirit of the valley, unveiling the freshness and richness of minerals in this land of cold light. The vineyards have three unique features, marine influence for climate moderation, coastal fog for long ripening grapes & red clayatop a calcareous base that gives the wines intense mineral flavours, which make fresh and well-structured wines.
A cool climate style Syrah, it is elegant and has restrained power. It tastes of White Chocolate, Mangosteen skin, Gamey plus a little hint of Mint and White pepper with a medium to long finish. No decanting needed, wine is ready to be enjoyed straight out of a Bordeaux glass. Enjoy now!
