Domaine Heimbourger is located in the heart of Burgundy, in the region of Saint-Cyr-les-Colons between the two appellations of Chablis and Irrancy. The vineyards are located on the slopes of the south and southeast hillsides.
The winery has been under the care of the Heimbourger family for 3 generations, with integrated farming methods being practiced for the past 15 years to preserve the terrior, all for the sole purpose of producing quality wines!
The colour is a nice dress of cherry red. The nose is full of red and black fruits, such as cherries and blackcurrants along with hints of peppery notes. The tannins are soft and round on the palate, the finish is long. Overall, a smooth and easy-to-drink pinot noir, suitable to be enjoyed young or within a few years!
This Burgundy red wine is aromatic, high in acid and has low tannins, making it extremely versatile with food. A delightful match with fatty fish dishes, with grilled salmon as a classic example. Roasted chicken or duck dishes will work perfectly well. However, avoid adding too much spices as seasonings so as to not risk overpowering the wine. The Heimbourger is perfect alongside a platter of light soft cheese too.
