Tasting notes
The Champagne Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut is delicate, elegant and balanced. The striking freshness of the fresh fruits fragrances take root, before giving way to subtle notes of vanilla and butter. The notes of cherry plum, lemon and bergamot orange emerge first, then make way for lingering notes of grapefruit, white peaches, green pears, apple trees and green hazelnuts round off the taste.
Little Stories about Perrier-Jouët Champagne
Since its very beginning Perrier-Jouët has been a favorite tipple of Europe's finest. Queen Victoria served the Perrier-Jouët drier style "brut" Champagne at her banquets from 1856 onward. Oscar Wilde was so fond of the Perrier-Jouët 1874 vintage that he ordered cases for delivery to his prison cell. Baudelaire wrote the famous verse "here all is but order and beauty, quiet luxury and sensual delight" while famously sipping Perrier-Jouët Champagne bottles. It's also a popular Champagne in Monaco, having been served at the wedding of the current monarch, Prince Albert II and Charlene Wittstock in 2011.
