One of the most exciting producers in Piemonte, Albino Rocca has an impressive list of wines to its name, from hot reds such as Barbaresco and Dolcetto d'Alba to stunning whites such as Cortese and the dessert wine Moscato d'Asti. Based in Barbaresco in the province of Cuneo, the vineyard is family run and has been in the hands of three generations of vintners over the course of the past century. Angelo Rocca along with Carlo and the daughters Daniela, Monica and Paola continue the path started by their grandfather Albino, who founded Albino Rocca.
The essence of place is very important to making wine that stands out from the crowd, and this is fundamental to Albino Rocca's philosophy. Respect for nature comes from the awareness that the grape, if cultivated in a healthy environment and in equilibrium with what surrounds it, would reach its maximum potential.
A deep, ruby red with purple reflections with a delicate and intense floral nose. Dry and full bodied, with juicy cherries, red liquorice, earthy undertones, and soft nuance, this magnificent red shows a characteristically pleasant bitter note.
Pasta dishes, cured meats, Thai food and lightly spicy dishes.
